I've been using 27inch 4k panels for a long time. Not sure the OP is not overthinking this. I know it depends on eyes and preference, but I'm curious what scaling settings others are using for their 27" QHD screens? If I wanted to get the equivalent 94.34 of my old screen, I think I'd need to scale my new one to about 115% (if all my math is right). At 120, I'm getting 90.66 dpi which is actually slightly lower than my 24" screen, although I think it looks OK. I'm finding I prefer 120% better than 125%. Am I going to run into issues if I use this? I did find the advanced scaling options, but windows warns this is not recommended. However, the dropdowns only go in 25% increments. If I scale my new screen to 125%, my equivalent dpi would be 108.79/1.25 = 87.03? IMO, 125% scaling is a bit too big for a 27" 1440 monitor. Not sure, I'm doing the math right, but I think this is how it works. I was expecting a change in DPI, but I feel that things are too small now with the new screen at 100% scaling, which is what windows recommends.Īccording to the calculations, I was getting 94.34 dpi with my 24" screen, and now I'm getting 108.79. I just upgraded from a 24" 1920x1200 monitor to a 27" 1440 screen.
